Travel

Which airports do you use?

Ryanair from Manchester or London Stansted to Nantes. The flight takes about 1 hour, then it's around 50 minutes to the lakes in our Mercedes Vito. Manchester–Nantes usually stops at the end of October; after that we fly from Stansted.

Which terminal?

Manchester: Terminal 3. Stansted has a single terminal.

Which days do trips run?

2026: Saturday to Saturday. From mid-October to mid-November, the days depend on the Ryanair schedule and may move to Sunday to Sunday.

2027: following Ryanair's cancellation of Saturday Manchester–Nantes flights, all 2027 stays now run Sunday to Sunday. Ryanair flights from Manchester to Nantes start on 28 March 2027.

What are the 2027 flight times?

See Ryanair flights 2027 on the Book Now page.

Can you book my flights?

Yes, at the exact price Ryanair bills us (we forward you the invoice). We don't book flights within 5 weeks of departure. You're also welcome to book them yourself.

How much luggage can I bring?

Package flights include a 10 kg cabin bag and a 20 kg hold bag. The two bags can't be combined into one weight. Extra bags can be added with Ryanair at their current price.

Should I bring my own rods?

No need: every swim has three 3 lb t/c carbon rods. If you still want your own, book them with Ryanair as sports equipment.

What can't I carry in my hand luggage?

No sharps, no line and no liquids over the limit. Check Ryanair's and the airport's rules for the full list.

Can I take a power bank on the plane?

Yes, in your cabin bag only. Power banks are not allowed in hold luggage, and each one must be 99 Wh maximum.

How early should I get to the airport?

At least 2 hours before the flight.

Booking & payment

How do I book?

WhatsApp or call Phil on +33 6 88 60 66 43, or email brittanymilllakes@gmail.com. We'll give you a booking reference. See How to Book.

Do I need to register?

Yes. Every group registers online with its booking reference on Register your party. The group leader can save and finish later, and check the booking on My booking.

What are the prices?

£579 per angler and £379 per non-fishing guest or fishing child under 15. Flights are not included.

What deposit do I pay, and is it refundable?

£150, due within the week of booking. It isn't refundable except for medical reasons with a certificate. See our Terms & Conditions.

How do I pay?

We recommend a bank card payment for each angler: it lets you claim from your bank if something goes wrong. Bank transfers and group payments are accepted too.

Can I bring my non-fishing partner?

Yes, the guest price is £379.

Why do I need travel insurance?

It's mandatory. French public healthcare only covers emergency treatment with your GHIC/EHIC card, not the ambulance, hospital stay, food or medicine. Bring the policy number and the insurer's 24-hour emergency number printed on paper, not only on your phone. No policy, no fishing. See Travel Insurance.

The lakes

How many anglers per lake?

Mill Lake (12 acres) has 6 decked swims for 6 anglers maximum, in two ends: the shallows end (3 pegs) and the other end (2 pegs, or 3 if two anglers share a big bivvy). Cadouzan (17 acres) has 9 pegs for 8 anglers maximum. See Our Lakes.

Can my group have Mill Lake to ourselves?

Yes, from 4 anglers.

How are swims chosen?

We show you around the lake and anglers usually agree among themselves. We only draw if you can't.

Are there poisson chat or crayfish?

No poisson chat at all. Mill has a few crayfish, but they don't bother your baits.

Do I need a rod licence? Can I night fish?

No licence is needed and night fishing is allowed: this is a private estate that predates Napoleon.
